May 2019

L3 Micreo employees volunteer for Give Back Day

This week we took part in the first ever global L3 ISR Give Back Day along with L3 colleagues across the world - a new annual event for all companies within L3's ISR Systems business segment where all employees go out and serve their communities. The event takes place on the first Thursday in May in recognition of the day L3 was founded (1 May 1997). The Segment has approx. 14,000 employees across 8 sectors, with 37 divisions covering Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, and UK, all taking part in this event on the same day. Giving back is consistent with our company values and ultimate goal of making the world a better place.

We had a fantastic time on Thursday volunteering and fundraising. A team of our employees volunteered at the Guide Dogs Queensland centre in Brisbane cleaning and re-stickering collection dogs to put back out into the public. Guide Dogs Queensland is L3 Micreo's Charity of Choice 2019 so all fundraising activity we do throughout the year is in aid of them. At the end of the year any money employees have raised for the charity is then matched by the company $ for $ to double our total donation.

Onsite at our Eight Mile Plains facilities, we held a charity car wash, cake and coffee sale for Guide Dogs with our L3 Oceania colleagues, who also raised money for children’s cancer charity, Camp Quality, by making hot cheese toasties.

Thanks to all our employees who got involved giving their time, donating equipment, making cakes, or paying for the services and treats on offer. Between the offsite and onsite teams, we prepared around 500 collection dogs and raised $674 for Guide Dogs Queensland. Plus Oceania raised $273 for Camp Quality. A great example of teamwork, giving back to our community and enjoying what we do.
