Daniel Hosick joins L3Harris - Micreo as Maritime EW Manager

Daniel Hosick joins L3Harris - Micreo as Maritime EW ManagerWe're pleased to welcome a new team member to the business this week. Daniel Hosick joins L3Harris - Micreo as Maritime Electronic Warfare (EW) Manager, based in Canberra. The newly created role will see Hosick focus on expanding the company’s capability and innovation, particularly in the EW maritime environment, in support of key Australian maritime programs.

“I’m very pleased to be joining L3Harris. With my background in EW, working across Australian programs such as Nulka, I’ll be working to drive growth in the maritime domain and support further development of the company’s EW capabilities. It’s a well timed appointment, with the regions’ key maritime defence trade show – Pacific 2019 – taking place in Sydney this month, so I look forward to meeting colleagues new and old at the event,” Hosick said.

“With the Government’s well publicised strategy to acquire and support the broad range of maritime platforms in Australia, it’s appropriate that industry supports that strategy by employing people with prior experience and a deep understanding of the domain. Dan helps us to bring that to our Company,” said Sarah Earey, Managing Director of L3Harris - Micreo.

Hosick joins L3Harris from Leidos Australia, where he supported the JP2030 Joint Command Support Environment program delivering to the ADF ICT capabilities for Headquarters Joint Operations Command, completing his time with the company as Program Manager.

Hosick joined the RAN in 1994, commencing a naval career that spanned over 20 years as a Seaman Officer where he performed navigator, Gunnery, Air Warfare and Operations Officer roles. This service included a deployment to the Arabian Gulf for Operation CATALYST in 2005-2006.

In 2008, Hosick commenced work in the RAN on the Nulka program. Between 2008 to 2015, he served in a variety of roles that included Operational Requirements and Project Management for a number of EW programs. Between 2012 to 2014, Hosick was located in the US as the Nulka Liaison Officer for the RAN, in support of the Joint Australian and US program. On returning to Australia, Hosick supported the Navy’s ES-3701 Electronic Surveillance systems that were supplied by L3Harris and was appointed to Lockheed Martin Australia in 2015.

Hosick will continue to serve as a member of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Reserve. Hosick holds a Masters Degree in Defence Studies, and a Masters Degree in Management (Project Management).
